Tamara Shepphard is a passionate autism advocate and behavior specialist from Los Angeles, CA. She has 8 years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis specializing in Natural Environment Training (NET) and Discrete Trial Training (DTT) while working with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities in the family homes, public school systems, and group holes for adolescents and adults. In addition to the direct intervention she provided in her roles as a behavior technician and clinical supervisor, she also has experience with recruitment, clinical training, and staff retention within an ABA agency. With an interest in Organizational Behavior Management, she plans to continue to provide services and supports to minority youth and their families as well as mentor and inspire other Black professionals to pursue a career in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Aside from her clinical experience, she continues to bring awareness to the autism population and the needs for inclusion for the special needs’ population. In November 2019, she was selected as an Autism Speaks Volunteer Advocacy Ambassador in which she works with Congresswoman Maxim Waters and her staffing team to help bring awareness to the autism diagnosis within the local community, advocate for policies and federal funding to support individuals with autism while also supporting the mission and values of the Autism Speaks organization. In addition to this role, she continues to work with Autism Speaks by assisting in fundraising for their annual Autism Walk LA with her Team Tampered Faces who participate in the walk annually as well as raise funds for continued research related to Autism.
